Pumping Plant No. 2 Rehabilitation
Replacement of two river lift pumps, motors and switchgear, with new variable frequency drives and remote telemetry at the District's primary river intake.
Project Overview
The original pumps at Plant No. 2 had been in service for more than four decades and were operating well below their rated efficiency. The rehabilitation replaced the pumps, motors, discharge piping and electrical switchgear, and added variable frequency drives that allow staff to match pumping to actual canal demand.
Remote telemetry now reports intake levels, discharge pressure and energy use to the District office, reducing the number of trips to the plant and allowing faster response when river stage changes.
