Pay Your Water Assessment
Three ways to pay your flat-rate assessment and water-use charges. Accounts must be current to order irrigation water.
Option A — Pay Online
Pay by bank draft, credit or debit card through the District's secure billing portal. You will need your account number and the ZIP code on your statement. Payments post the next business day.

Mail a check or money order payable to Hidalgo County Irrigation District No. One. Write your account number on the memo line and include the payment stub from your statement. Payments are credited on the postmark date.

Visit the District office during regular business hours. Cash, check, money order, credit and debit cards are accepted at the counter, and staff can print a receipt and review your account with you.

Account Information
Finding your account number
Your account number appears in the upper right corner of every statement, above the tract description. If you have recently purchased land inside the District, bring a copy of the recorded deed so the account can be transferred into your name.
Assessment schedule
Flat-rate assessments are levied annually against the irrigable acreage of record and billed each January. Water-use charges are billed per acre-inch delivered and appear on the statement following each irrigation.
Late fees and suspension
Penalty and interest accrue on balances past due under the Board's collection policy. Delinquent accounts are not eligible to order water, and service resumes once the balance and applicable fees are paid in full.
